Belltree Managing North Sea EOR Project

Belltree are currently managing an EOR Project on a multi-million barrel field for a North Sea Operator. Our initial scoping study identified Chemical Flooding to be the most suitable EOR technique. By liaising closely with chemical suppliers, laboratories, facilities and the subsurface team, Belltree have taken the lead role in driving this exciting venture forward. The Chemical EOR scheme is the first of its kind for the client and provides an excellent example of our desire to maximise field recovery by operating at the leading edge of technology and applying cross-disciplinary experience.

Working with cutting-edge technology to develop the way we work

We are currently using CMG CMOST simulation software to history match one of our client’s largest assets. This brand new software allows the operator to optimise the history match on multiple parameters at the same time using a multi-objective optimisation technique (MOO). This computer-assisted technique significantly improves the quality of the history match and the time taken to achieve it. We are maintaining our close relationship with CMG developers and technical staff to ensure this cutting edge technology provides our client with added value.

Rod Clark Attends IEA EOR Symposium

Rod Clark recently attended the IEA EOR Annual Symposium and Workshop held in Aberdeen. The theme this year was ‘Offshore EOR’, and offered an excellent opportunity to share knowledge and work with other world EOR experts. We would like to thank all of those that presented their work and also thank the event organisers for a very informative and smoothly run programme.

Ben Read Presents at ‘Maths in the Pipeline

Ben Read volunteered to present at the first ‘Maths in the Pipeline’ event held at Heriot Watt, Edinburgh. Hosted by the charity TechFest – SetPoint, ‘Maths in the Pipleline’ is a full day of workshops and presentations aimed at demonstrating the application of mathematics in the Oil and Gas Industry. Ben gave an excellent introductory presentation on the Captain Field, which introduced some of the common concepts and terminology found in our industry. You can see the photographs of Ben at the event here.
